EAST TENNESSEE WILDFIRES – WHAT YOU CAN DO
For now the requests for assistance are being filled by local resources. TNUMC is on stand by to assist any way they need for us to assist.
The Holston Conference is asking that we NOT send supplies or any teams at this time.
Once assessments are made and need is determined we will respond. For now two things are most beneficial:
1. Prayers for all those affected. Pray for all of those who are responding, emergency personnel, survivors, tourists, business owners, those having to evacute, everyone! Please also be in prayer for the Holston Conference of the UMC as they respond to their hurting neighbors.
2. Financial Donations:
Holston Conference will accept financial donations with checks made to “Holston Conference” and “Holston Wildfire #864” on the memo line. Mail to: Holston Conference, P.O. Box 850, Alcoa, TN 37701. Online giving is possible at Holston.org/wildfires.
The Holston Conference has shared an article that lists churches in the affected district that they know are safe.
